So I wanted to publish 2 books this year. Right off the publication of grydscaen: alliance we began work on grydscaen: insurrection. Insurrection is one of my favorites in the series as it deals with mobile frames, pilots and the military. It allows me to write military scifi with an anime feel which is something I have been going for in the series. Insurrection introduces us to Sati Ima and Nathaneal Barjan who are both pilots in the Pacific Territories…..
The grydscaen series provides an outlet for me to give back to society. Having recently released the ebook versions of “A Storm’s Coming” and the sequel “Rogue,” I see this as a movement forward in my mission. grydscaen allows me to support LGBT homeless youth services and young adult self esteem. These two stories in particular which focus on the teen Rom, the 16 year old LGBT youth living on the streets show the struggles of young people to be…..
As an author, script writer and illustrator who does the cover art and all the graphics in grydscaen: tribute, it is a passion for me. The project “A Storm’s Coming” or otherwise known in kanji as “Imminent Storm” is the first graphic novel or manga for grydscaen. The project took about 3 weeks to create once all the drawing was completed. The manga is black and white and features Rom, the main character on the cover. Rom was the very first…..
This is Rom from the Packrat Sprawl creating waves and coming to you live from the middle of the Echelons down on Astor street right before you get to Drake and the Tram eatery. The food trucks are out today. You best get there early if you want to eat. They have ramen today with mushrooms and shallots. Pretty sophisticated if you ask me. They must be wanting to treat us homeless derelicts with class. There is an action coming…..
With the European ministry taking action and blocking questionable Internet sites that insight terrorism or hate we see governments taking action. France was recently in the news for blocking five websites which carried questionable content, the crux, there was no court order to block the sites. Internet service providers were given 24 hours to comply and take the sites off the air. With this new action, the rules of the game may end up being changed. In the past a…..
I wanted to talk about ending domestic violence today using characters from the YA dystopian scifi novel grydscaen: utopia because the main character Lino has to deal with that in this book. First, as a writer I need to relate my experience to domestic violence. It can be physical, emotional and sexual including rape. I have not had a lot of relationships, I can count them on one hand but in those few I have experienced violence. Having a…..
In the big cities and metropolitan areas the world is harsh, cold and sometimes frightening. The LGBT youth who flee their homes for reasons such as abuse, being neglected, being ridiculed when they come out or being bullied at school or by family, take to the streets for their existance. The street is harsh and unforgiving. There is not a lot of work for street youth if any and many times they are forced into certain acts just to…..
Homelessness is a problem in many areas, not just in the large metropolitan centers. 40% of homeless youth are LGBT. The plight of homeless youth is harsh and difficult. Staying warm, finding a safe place to sleep, staying safe and finding food are all things that are critical on the streets. Homeless veterans are also on the rise. The day to day struggles of being on the streets can be daunting. There are services available but they don’t reach everyone…..
The Packrats and the T-Hack in grydscaen are two groups that are fighting for information freedom and the end of oppression in the Echelons and the Zone. The view from the City is that these groups are rebel forces that are causing chaos in the Echelons. The Packrats specifically are out to equalize the landscape. The Zone Police and the enforcers and trackers of the Elite government are rounding up psychics off the street and taking them in for…..
Rom ran down the streets of the Shizuoko ghetto with a sniper rifle. He had to get to his next position. His tan trench coat flapping in the wind as the fallout rained down like snow. He brought the neck of his sweater up so it covered his mouth and nose trying not to breathe in the toxic particles but it was of little use. The iodine pills he had been taking for the past year would have to do…..
